Kids call it play.
We call it Occupational Therapy.

   School Age Services

Thrive Baby Therapy offers individualized Occupational Therapy services. These services can look different depending on your child’s individual needs and what works for your family. Services can occur on a weekly continuous basis; or a more flexible schedule offering more consultative and educational sessions teaching the family sensory strategies as a home program.

OT Sessions in a Sensory Clinic

Children with sensory processing challenges often need to be seen in a specialized clinic that will help address their specific goals. Treatment sessions are always play based to ensure your child enjoys participating and coming to therapy each visit. These sessions take place at a clinic in San Anselmo in Red Hill.

Assessments/Evaluations

Is your child having difficulty paying attention, learning how to form letters and numbers properly or sensory processing? A thorough OT assessment can get to the bottom of what is going on and what the barriers may be for your child.

OT Sessions at Home or School

For some children, being seen in their natural environments like school or home, can allow the OT to observe the routines and show the caregiver or teacher how to implement strategies within the daily routines and provide any additional tips.

Executive Functioning Coaching Program

Is your child unable to start, complete and turn in their homework? Do they struggle to complete a series of things, like their morning routine, independently? Does your child have ADHD or more disorganized than other kids? In this program your child will learn specific tools and techniques from the work of Sara Ward, SLP to strengthen their executive functioning skills that are the essential self-regulating skills that we all use every day to plan, organize, make decisions, and learn from past mistakes.

School Readiness

Are you unsure if your child has the skills needed to do well in school? Do they struggle with writing and fine motor? Do they struggle to sit and attend like their peers? OT can help children shore up the underlying skills that make it possible for children to sit, focus, and learn. They will work on skills such as handwriting, fine motor, establishing a strong midline, visual perceptual and visual motor skills with a variety of fun activities. This can be done in 1:1, duet or small group.
