ABOUT
Tonya Zimring, OT & Developmental Specialist
With nearly 20 yrs experience working with children ages 0-14 in a variety of settings from Children's hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, and early intervention, I draw from a wide range of therapeutic approaches to determine what is going on for your child and how best to guide you to support them in their growth and development.

My passion is also supported by empathy and understanding that only parenting a neurodiverse child can bring. I understand how frustrating it is as a parent to find the support your child needs. I thrive on finding the best path forward for each family and helping every child reach their full potential.

TESTIMONIALS

Claire Pelzner, Petaluma
"I was so grateful for Tonya's wisdom and expertise. I was completely unprepared for the worry and anxiety of new motherhood. I felt panicked every time I looked at a developmental milestones checklist. In our sessions I was able to express my fears and concerns freely which was not something I felt comfortable sharing with my pediatrician. She helped put my mind at ease along with providing numerous tips, tricks, and activities to get me and my little one bonded and his motor skills moving in the right direction."

"My daughter was walking on her toes - well beyond 18 months - and had no obvious reason to be having a developmental delay that I could understand. Tonya provided a safe space to ask the worrisome parent questions that the doctor was unable to answer. She helped me by not only quelling my concerns, but was able to identify the reason for the toe walking. She was able to give us home exercises to help my daughter develop."

"Tonya is truly gifted in her chosen profession. On top of her years of education and experience, she has an intuitive eye that sees things that completely escape other providers. As a new mom I was preparing to buy all sorts of baby gear that sat my baby up that were highly recommended in my moms' forums. Tonya advised me that despite rave reviews, research showed some of these devices could hinder my child's development. Tonya was also able to address a feeding issue where my daughter was stuffing food in her mouth causing choking and gagging. I am eternally grateful for her advise and input with my daughter. Her insights and advise are priceless, especially considering the impact that early intervention can have on your child's development."
